What’s a penny sale? 
A penny sale is a raffle where you purchase tickets to win prizes.  This year, we’re selling a sheet of 25 regular tickets and 1 door prize ticket for $5 or 6 sheets for $20.  Essentially, each chance to win costs pennies, thus the name penny sale.
This year we have a new format.  You’ll separate your tickets and choose to enter for the prizes you want most.  We have some amazing prizes for raffle including cash, gift cards, TV, fine jewelry, treats, toys, bicycle, food, home décor and more. All the items are perfect for you or for gift giving.
In addition, we’ll have a 50/50 raffle. In a 50/50 raffle, we give ½ of the total money raised to the winner and the other ½ goes to support the work of Suncook Valley Rotary.  Last year, the winner won about $590.  You must be present to win.
 
How much do tickets cost? 
Sheets of raffle tickets are $5 each or 6 for $20. 50/50 tickets are $1 each or 10 for $5. Please note: tickets are cash only.  There are several ATMs nearby if you need cash.
 
Do you take credit cards?
Cash only for tickets.  We can take credit cards/debit cards for food sales.
 
Do I have to be there to win?  
Yes, you must be present to win any of the drawings. We'll have food, fun and door prizes for everyone who joins us early. Drawings start at 5:00 pm.
 
What’s the schedule?
Below is the tentative schedule.  Details may change.
  • 2:00  pm - Doors open. Ticket and food sales begin. Scroll down for menu
  • 3:30 pm – The Cat in the Hat from Seussical the Musical by the Pittsfield Players visits
  • 4:30 pm – We say goodbye to The Cat in the Hat
  • 4:45 pm or so - Welcome and Announcement of balloon rally photo contest winners.
  • 5:00 pm Raffle prize drawings start.
  • End of the event – 50/50 drawing winner announced
Where is the event held?
Pittsfield Middle/High School, 23 Oneida St, Pittsfield, NH 03263. Link to map. The event will be held in the gym.  There’s a large parking lot available. 
 
What's the menu?
We’re excited to offer a variety of delicious foods for everyone.  Tentative menu and prices:  
  • Hot Dog and a Pickle - $3
  • Chili Dog and a Pickle - $4
  • Mac and Cheese - $4 plus a free pickle
  • Chili - $4
  • Nachos $3
  • Popcorn $1
  • Pickles - Free
  • Mystery Dessert (Cookies, Brownies, Chocolates) - $1
  • Soda or Water $1
 
What does Suncook Valley Rotary do with the money raised?
The money raised during this event is used to support local community projects throughout the Suncook Valley. Last year, we helped to support community events like Old Home Days, scholarships for high school seniors, and local nonprofits.
 
What prizes will be available?
Over 150 prizes will be available and we’re confident that we have something for everyone including cash, gift cards, pet gift baskets, kids gift baskets, spa gift baskets, food, clothing, TV, bicycle, jewelry, home décor, lobster dinner, books, Holiday/Christmas, wheelbarrow, scooter, Yeti, car detailing, lunchbox, swag and more. This is only a short list. We expect to have at least 150 items available for raffle.
 
Do you need volunteers?
We’re lucky to have a great crew of people who are willing to help make the event a success. If you want to help, email suncookvalleyrotary@gmail.com with your availability on Saturday and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
 
How can I help?
We’d love your support of Rotary.  We take donations online here or at the event.  You can also drop off donations for the Children’s Holiday store at the event.  The Children's Holiday Store is held in early December and open to all.
